Agreed - we don't need full OLE features. We need to be able to at least extract the embedded file so we can view it! Every answer on the MS support website requires you to rename files or run macros to do this. Please make it so you can see a "list of embedded files" and choose what to do with them.

We don't need full OLE features. We need to be able to at least extract the embedded file so we can view it! Every answer on the MS support website requires you to treat the DOCX as a ZIP file, or run macros to do this. Please make it so you can see a "list of embedded files" and choose what to do with them. Even the Windows version of Office STILL doesn't have the ability to let you just extract the file -- more than 2 decades later!

We don't need the full Windows OLE editing feature. We just need to be able to get the embedded document out of Word so we can view it. And if you can do that on Word for Mac, could you please port that to Word for Windows so we can extract embedded files there too?

Agree with anonymous. PDF documents can contain embedded files and you can launch them from the PDF viewer (Acrobat or other programs)

Still waiting for Microsoft to allow us to do something with embedded files, on either Windows or Mac.
