Microsoft - please... if you start a web-site to hear the voice of the customer, then please spent 10 minutes a day on the high voting ideas to share your thoughts. You invite us to tell you, but by now we are shouting and ******* on the door and it appears no one is there on the other end. What would Mr Nadella have to say if he knew about this lack of basic respect shown to his caring and interested clients?!

For goodness sake this thing has attracted 669 comments. Tell junior programmer to put it back in - you don't need to review that.

By the way can you also please tell junior to keep his/her hands of other features that used to work? Like the object anchors which now in the latest automatic "release" have disappeared. Please re-instate those too. Not so hard.

113 votes, 113,000,000 silent votes. Can you please make a start. If you wish make it an option and see how many will use the old style. Though that proves nothing as most people simply have given up and don't know any of the features other than clicking he bold button, too afraid it will break.

82 days since we had a sign of life from the Word Product team. Gheezzz if it is this slow fro a box around a page we'll never see any further improvements in our lifetime.

Dear developer: Check-out old code; Reinstate; auto run the tests; fix if necessary; publish as a patch. 1 hour of your time - if not 1 hour, we can teach you how to set up your development properly.

Indeed GO Tuhls - the new "design" is not usable. "Design" in quotes as it is not a design that is for anyone knowing anything about print and page layout

Dear Word Product team - just read this thread "listen to your customers" - it is sooo obvious that this needs re-instating and fixed. 18 September you responded - for goodness sake just do it please. This can't take more than a day to fix.

That reminds me - dear programmer, yes we know, text boundaries are still in, but they are now on the paragraph, not on the page. Please revert to what it use to be, and please do not touch that what works.

    Hi Anatmavada

If you need it urgently why not buy an external monitor which you can rotate vertically and then you have all the height you need. $250 & fixed properly

Yes long overdue, with most monitors being wide screens, the logical place is on the left or right. Do keep the quick tool bar on the window frame though, and do bring the full window frame back please!

Jeff - how odd, 2003, 2010, 2013 do look in the header and footer. Maybe time to move to a decent version of office? 2007 was riddled with issues so I skipped it.

You need to add that to your Quick Access Toolbar, then it works. Add the object "Shapes" and "Insert Drawing" and you are a for away

Hey how interesting - but then why do you have a heading style in a table? Makes no sense. Tables are for tables not for body structures.

young person - this I called version control. We all have fat fingers so an autosave is no guarantee. Disk space is cheap - regularly save with a different version number in your file name. That way if you accidentally type ctrl+a followed by the rest of the word (instead of shift a), and then do a save ctrl+S and now you look at your screen then yikes you'll see you have just lost your work. But if you save with version numbers in the file then, you can go back to a previous version. So example:
    Homework_v01.docx,
    Homework_v02.docx
    Homework_v03.docx
    ..
    Homework_v18.docx

Every hour save as the next version - that way you at most lose one hour. Use two digits as placeholders as that will help sorting the files in the right order.

    Hope that helps

This would not be an improvement for me. What you ask for is done in other ways. Most of what you ask for is not what I use, and it would complicate the interface with even more to remember. Plus hands of keys as many use combinations on their styles, which your keyboard shortcuts would interfere with.

Good idea for you, and I don't want to negate that, but for me: pity there is no vote down button.

This is not a valid "improvement" everything you ask for exists in 2003, 2010, and 2013 (I skipped 2007 as it was riddled with bugs). You probably suffer how to get to it. On the navigation pane, use the drop down on the search field and select and select advanced find or Replace. In the replace open up the more.

I agree - why we have to do all this where it should just be one click. But you can add replace to the Quick Access Toolbar but select "All commands". Just google that.

Plus you can select a block of text and just replace on that and Word will tell you how many replacements it made there.

    Hope that helps
