    Microsoft are hell bent on dumbing down the Windows version of Office so that it aligns with the "cripple-ware" implementation on iOS and Android devices.

    At best, any change should be limited to an individual user being given the ability to disable the feature. I do NOT favour the removal of the feature completely as I like it.

    Find and Replace DOES find\replace text in the headers and\footers of a document (and has done so for many years.

    A simple recorded Find and Replace macro however will only work on the Main Document Story and to use a macro to Find and Replace text any where that it appears in a document, you do need to use the method in the link that you posted
