Fully agree. I am currently developing a modern document to be used in the aircraft cockpit by flight crews on Electronic Flight Bags that has multiple hyperlinks for ease and quickness of use. That said there are many styles that have background shading and non-black font. When a hyperlinked TOC or TOF is populated the style formatting is gone, which is quite surprising and dissapointing for such a modern piece of software as Word. It would be of great benefit to many to allow source formatting (shading, font, colours) to stay when populated within a hyperlinked TOC/TOF.

Hyperlinking Index abilities would be wonderful for aviation documentation used on Electronic Flight Bag devices by flight crews. If this is not possible or reasonably undesired to add such an option to Index within Word than allow TOC's or TOF's to be sorted alphabetically which essentially satisfies the index linking request. With that it would be nice to know a way of allowing background shading and different font colours to remain once populated into a TOC/TOF, etc...
