I agree. This is a basic feature of Word, and even the long-ago Microsoft Works program, much more basic than Word but suited for personal use, had the ability to set up columns. Word 365 is barely functional, yet Microsoft wants to push people towards it and charge us $7 per month for a basically useless program.

I agree. So many basic features are missing, that this program is pretty useless for the average user. Namely: ruler, tab indents, textboxes, columns, ability to print a business envelope. Microsoft wants to push people towards Office 365 and charge us $7 per month for a basically useless program. Seems counterintuitive as a business model to me. If you want people to use your product, give them the features they need!

I agree. After composing a letter in Word, it is disheartening to have to hand write the envelope because this feature is missing. I can understand not having mail merge in this program, but it should at least let you print a No. 10 business envelope. Word 365 is barely functional, yet Microsoft wants to push people towards it and charge us $7 per month for a basically useless program.

Please add the ruler and tab stop settings. Paragraph view lets you indent, but not set center, right, or decimal tabs. Just about every other word processor, even the free ones, have this. I bought my chromebook and subscribed to Office 365 expecting it to be like the regular desktop Word, but sadly it is not, with even such basic features as a ruler and tab stop settings missing.
