This really does need to get fixed. It's especially annoying when using multiple different virtual desktops, as at least one other user already pointed out. Excel and word get used in a lot of weird and unique ways with a lot of different software so when you have your desktop set up for minimal ergonomic impact and this "feature" decides to rear it's ugly head it doesn't do anyone any favors.
