This is driving me crazy! I've written in so many times asking for this feature to be restored. I have to use the old version of Word, which is ridiculous. I wish there was another widely used option besides freaking Word that editors could use since Microsoft doesn't seem to find us important.

Yes! I'm a professional editor, and this is a must-have feature. I still use Word 2011 because it has live word count and Word 2016 doesn't. I keep checking to see if this has been added back in, but it has not. I don't understand why Microsoft would have gotten rid of this feature. So frustrating!!

I am also tired of people saying it's there. These people obviously don't know what live word count is. It has word count. It does NOT have live word count. Which is to say if you click in the middle of 1,000-word document, for example, it will say at the bottom 534 out of 1,000 words. This is extremely important when you have a job where word count is so important.

PLEASE bring this back!! I have no idea why you would have gotten rid of this feature. As a professional editor, this is a must-have feature. I'm still using Microsoft 2011 because it has live word count and Word 2016 doesn't. Whenever there's an update, I open it to see if live word count is back yet. No such luck.

If people say it's already there, then they don't know what live word count is. It's not!!
