" Word Product Team [MSFT]: Word now provides the option to generate a tagged PDF (which preserves hyperlinks) in version 15.23.1 and above. This functionality is available for many languages, and we’re working on adding support for the remaining languages.”

I'm guessing this is the "Best for electronic distribution and accessibility" option when saving as a PDF? Yes, this does preserve links, but it /doesn't/ preserve all of the formatting (e.g., fonts are changed, image quality is reduced, and many other issues).

It is truly unbelievable that this issue hasn't been fixed. /Yes/, there's now the option to convert the PDF as "Best for electronic distribution," but this messes up formatting (e.g., changes font, moves things) and makes images look like garbage. I have gone back to using Word 2011 because of this... unacceptable.
