Doesn't anyone use jumplists? - you and the MS programmers have to be crazy, or maybe you just don't realise how important they are. PLEASE MS fix this urgently. Also the width of jumplists about which I am about to post separately.
ebush finally found something that works!
To change quantity of Jump List items, open RegEdit and navigate to:
Click on Advanced key. On menu, click Edit > New > DWORD (32 bit) Value.
Name it: JumpListItems_Maximum
Right click it, select Modify and set Hexadecimal Value to what you want.
I set mine to 20 and it actually took immediately without a reboot.
Microsoft - please add this to the right click options on the taskbar to remove the need for a registry hack.
Doesn't look as if this suggestion is receiving much attention from the MS community. However I would like to emphasize to the Office programmers that this is to me a really critical issue which makes all Office programs FAR less usable.
I had forgotten - luckily Greg Maxey has developed a solution - see:
This works well in 2013 and 2016. But make sure you bookmark the page - MS repeatedly incapacitates it and you will need to re-download - thanks Greg
This is ridiculous - it is hard to imagine how MS programmers can be so inept. When you (finally) get around to fixing it - please do it for 2013 as well as 2016 - thanks in advance (and in hope that someone reads these comments)
Another thread covers this topic - please support it
This is really important. Please at least give us the option to sort pinned and unpinned files by name rather than by date. This would greatly increase the value of the pinned jumplist. It amazes me that your programmers manage to make newer versions of programs less user friendly than old - in 2010 we had much greater ability to manage our jumplists.
Thanks for your feedback! We’re reviewing your suggestion.
Doug: that is exactly what I said in the text. I do agree that the title could have been better expressed.
Don't know Word Mobile, but in Desktop it is very easy - just click right in the status bar and turn on Word Count
Luckily it still works in Word 2013
I agree that this is urgently needed. However, until Microsoft get around to fixing it, Greg Maxey has kindly provided a way to add Autocorrect to the right click menu when checking spelling. See
Works well in Office 365/2013
