Printing U2010 Hyphen Instead of U002D Hyphen Minus
The U2010 hyphen appears differently in Word 2016 compared to the U002D hyphen minus (as it should), but only when I turn on the "show formatting symbols" feature. When I print Word documents using the U2010 hyphen, however, the hyphens display on paper as the U002D hyphen minus. The same is true when I save a Word document as a .pdf. As I understand it, the two characters should display differently--the hyphen is the preferred typesetting character and is a touch longer, thinner, and raised horizontally, whereas the hyphen minus is an amalgamation of the hyphen and minus characters adopted for typewriter-use only (but with newfound modern use in coding and URLs). Is there a way to preserve the proper U2010 hyphen display when printing and saving to a .pdf? If not, can we make a way possible? Thanks!
