Permanently Change/Set a New Default Font
This app is great! However, it would really be EXTREMELY helpful if you were able to permanently change/set your own choice of font so that it is automatically chosen for you when you open a new document and/or add in a text box. The default font for the iPad is currently the “Calibri” font, however this font is not as professional as some of the others. It would be AMAZING if you were able to change/set the font to your own personal preference such as “Times New Roman”. OR you could just change the app so the default font is automatically “Times New Roman” Size: 12 point, I feel this would also be a good solution given that Professionals and Students who write; books/articles/scholarly journals/school papers, etc. MAINLY use the 12 Point “Times New Roman” font because it is seen as the most PROFESSIONAL font!

Wish I could set my default font to Times new Roman. Looks like it is not an option since last update. What is the big deal about allowing defaults to be changed? Is there anybody out there that works for Microsoft that might care a little bit, maybe...just a little

Why hasn't anyone from Microsoft replied to at least acknowledge this request?! It's maddening to have to scroll down a long font list every time one starts a document!!!

Calibri is not a font I want to use ever!
Please would you help by letting us permanently change to the font of our choice? -

If I can’t use installed font, word is not useful as iOS 13.

What also needs to be added is support for IOS 14’s new font system. Because without it, all my downloaded fonts no longer work.

This is my bugbear too.
Every time I open a new document I have to spend time repeatedly filling in my chosen script. Calibri is not a font I want to use ever!
Please would you help by letting us permanently change to the font of our choice? -

This is the exact reason why I am here. It would be so nice to not have to scroll down to select Times New Roman on every new document. It is a small change but it seems easy to do and would make a large difference. Maybe allow a feature where you can select a couple go-to or favorite fonts which are easily accessible. I am pleased with the selection available, however it is a pain to have to scroll to find it. Or allow access for keyboards to type out a font when you are searching for it so you can pull it up instantly. But yeah allow users to change the default font

Commmts/suggestions have been coming in, concerning the choice of default font change per personal style and NOT to have to change it EVERY time we use a new doc. Its been over 6 months now. My question is, do you not care about our concerns or is this an impossible feature for you? Seriously, we have all been asking for quite some time, and nicely, requesting. Please respect your continuing clientele, who have been faithful users of Microsoft products for years.

If you want to change your written input, I can easily see the ability to format iPads on iPad. Therefore, written works should be written as part of an essay. https://adobezii.me/

Definitely an upvote for me. I can’t stress enough how much more professional Times New Roman is over Calibri and much more common in the academic world.
For what it’s worth...Pages for ios can do this (according to macworld.com). -

The new iPad Pro w Magic Keyboard is our firm’s PC replacement solution but will require us to move to Microsoft to Google in order to use our company mandated fonts styles and colors.

Make templates editable and allow for custom templates.
Please, please, please.
Or give us templates in „nice“ colors. -

Hi,
As you can probably tell, I have a similar problem.
When I copy a text in Times New Roman from Word and paste it in a discussion board thread in chrome or safari it changes the font to Calibri.Does anyone have a good workaround?
Thank you!

Please for the love of god, Microsoft, read this post and make this change. Either give users the ability to set their own default fonts or at least make the default for everyone Times New Roman size 12. It is so frustrating having to change it every. Single. Time.

Agree re all comments. And make it simple to change display fonts in comments. None of the easily accessible help online addresses how to change the display font size in comment bubbles (36 pt on IPads?). If this is an Apple/app issue would be helpful to have that identified as a known issue.

Actually, instead of changing just the default font, I'd rather see the ability to user format the styles on iPad. In that way, you would also have your default font as part of the Body text style.
