Citation is too bad in word
There is no way to import standard citations such as .bib to word. Why?
Also, I've used word citation for a while and it turns that it stuck when the number of citation becomes large like PhD thesis . Personally, I would not recommend word citation at all.

there should be a way to group words and drawings together that is easy
the current grouping button is hard to use and can only be accessed sometimes. there should be a button where you drag a square over what you want to group (drawings, words, pictures)

Bring back Notebook layout!
Onenote does not offer the same layout or features that Notebook did. I have used Onenote and Notebook is better. It's also easier to have it through Word vs. having to open an additional app. Notebook was also the best possible thing for students as you could have all your notes for a class in a single document which is ideal for studying. I used it through my university education.

Text Caps or regular
One can change regular text to full caps and back to regular text if you started typing in regular text. Why when you start typing in full caps, you cannot change it to regular text ?

Update your citation creator to MLA 8.
These are only a few of the changes in MLA 8's Formatting Guide: for writing, the citations are different as well. To include italicizing the title of the book. Words MLA 7 format is incorrect as well, you may want to access the correct format from the APA directly or consult with Purdue University to ensure you implement the correct style and formatting details.
Step 1: Times New Roman font
Step 2: 12 point font
Step 3: One-inch margins
Step 4: Double spaced
Step 5: Remove extra space after paragraph Step 6: Page number

Typing issues with OS Big Sur
I have just downloaded OS Big Sur and experienced a typing issue with Word for Mac. When I started a new paragraph, the earlier paragraph disappeared and came back and disappeared again. I would like to know how this can be fixed.

dark mode also for page background
Word for Mac honours the system's Dark Mode settings. Except that the page I am working on is still glaringly, in your face, white.

show number of results when using search tool
In the search tool it should say how many results there are for the word you’re trying to find much like how the pdf search function works.

Can you allow comments to be placed on both sides of the margin, when there are a lot of comments on a doc it becomes cluttered.

Reconsider Mac 2011 "Notebook View" You Previously Declined
In the 2011 version of Mac Word, Microsoft implemented a "Notebook" view that allowed a view of .DOCX files emulating a tabbed spiral notebook delineated by tabs separating sections, each of which was a continuous page with a simple outline of notes, which could be VERY extensive (hundreds of pages). The idea was simple and effective at keeping notes regarding research.
This feature was removed in 2016. You have excused yourselves for doing so by pointing to the purported overlapping features of OneNote. But hundreds of comments on this website (in multiple "ideas") have decried the fact that OneNote does…

you can add grammarly
You can add Grammarly. That would be much better. The spelling check doesn't have all the words in the world (the one on word).
