How to change font & size of all citation numbers in a doc?
I have Word 16 & use a recent Macbook.
I want to re-format the endnote citation numbers that appear in the body of a document (say at the end of a sentence).
I know how to re-format them from (say) 1 2 3 to i ii iii. But I need to format the font and size of every such number in the doc. All at once. This is because they presently appear in different fonts & sizes almost every time I insert an endnote. A way to prevent that in future would be much appreciated also.
Thanks to all.
I figured this out:
Make sure there are no footnotes in the doc – only endnotes. (The following steps will leave footnotes untouched.)
Go to Insert > Footnote, & click on Convert: Choose ‘Convert all footnotes to Endnotes’.
While you’re there:
All your endnote marks have to be in 1 2 3 format before you begin (not I ii iii etc).
To do this, go to Insert >Footnote and change the number format. Click APPLY (not Insert).
Then go to FIND ALL via CONTROL-H (not command-H).
Select endnote mark in the first dropdown box. That selects all of the endnote marks (those in the text and those in the actual endnotes at the bottom of the doc).
(Later, if needed, you can easily change the actual endnote (at bottom of doc) formatting by selecting them all, then Format > Font.)
Format menu > font: Calibri Regular 13 superscript
The last step didn’t work the first time I tried it, & did work after that.
