Reorder styles in the Quick Style list
It would be handy to have an option to reorder styles in Quick Style list. Depending on document's content and stage (e.g. creation vs final formatting), I need different styles to be accessed with a single click.
It's incredibly pitiful that Microsoft gives NO ABILITY to re-order the Style Pane in Word 2016. I've got a jumbled list from years of using this feature, and don't want to just delete the lesser-used ones that have somehow appeared in front of the frequently-used ones.
Seriously Microsoft, you couldn't provide a feature that's been available on Word for Windows since at least 2010? This is what I pay Microsoft $75/year for with Office 365?!?
One more reason to consider Google Docs.
And btw, if you're using this forum as a gauge for user sentiment, you should be aware that just about nobody knows about it. So multiply the 33 votes above by say, 10,000?
As others have noted, this feature would not just be handy, it is essential. Please implement this feature.

I need a way to set the style priorities for Word for Mac.

The original poster said "it would be handy". Come on, this is really essential for serious WORD users.
Even just an alphabetical sort would be useful! A drag and drop reorder would be better.

Yes please! After searching around for how to do this, I couldn't believe it wasn't possible.
YES. My "bold," "footer," and "vocab" styles come BEFORE my Header 1, 2, 3 styles! Makes using the Styles menu clunky and unpleasant.
Somehow the order got rearranged by itself (Heading 1 is far below Heading 3), which is very annoying, and I cannot seem to be able to undo it.

This is way more than "handy", and it's not just about the document's stage. It makes the difference between the Gallery being useful and being a waste of ribbon space.
Yes, the loss of this convenient feature is very annoying. One employer resorted to prefixing preferred styles with numbers 0, 1, 1.1 etc.
