PC vs Mac features
Make all features that are available in Microsoft PC also available for Mac users. I am fortunate enough to have both a PC and a Mac but it is very frustrating having to go between the 2 operating systems ... the function in particular is the Developer tab. I apparently cannot restrict editing on individual features in a document (say an image), only restrict editing by sections.

Khmer Font Broken in Microsoft Word with OS X Sierra
With the Sierra OS X update on the Mac, Khmer Unicode no longer fully renders correctly in Microsoft Word. This is a regression bug as Khmer Unicode previously worked on Mac OS X El Capitan.
Sample Khmer text that renders incorrectly in Microsoft Word:
ស្រស់
ប្រើPlease fix this ASAP as it makes Microsoft Word useless to those of us who use it with the Khmer language.

Comment Numbers
Please bring back the comment numbers to Word. I am a professor with a cerebral palsy, and I dictate all my comments for my students. I used to be able to say "comment 1, comment 2, etc." for my transcriber to easily follow my dictations. Now, I have to physically add each comment number to ensure that the correct comment goes in the correct box. By removing the comment numbers, it is now much more laborious of a task to comment on my student's papers. Please bring this feature back!

Embed fonts in Word documents
I want to be able to embed fonts in Word Documents so that I have the fonts on any computer I open that document on. This feature is in Word for Windows but not Word for Mac.

real-time co-authoring
real-time co-authoring is not available for word on mac, I'm trying to collaborate on a word document a college and it's very messy atm I have to manually refresh the document to get and send changes.

Save as PDF stays on "Processing" when overwriting previous PDF
Cannot overwrite a PDF file. I have to “Save As” as a new PDF every time. I have the latest version of MacOS and Word. This did not happen before. If I try to Save As with the same name as an existing file, I confirm that I want to replace the file, but then it freezes on “Processing” and I cannot use Word anymore.
Then I’ll have to quit Word (I don’t have to “Force Quit”, just regular Quit) and the problem keeps happening no matter where I save the file (locally or in my integrated Dropbox folder).

Restore (to Word for Mac 2016) ability to hide "reviewer, time stamp" in comment balloons
In Word for Mac 2011, I could set my Preferences > Reviewing to hide the reviewer, time stamp, and action buttons in comment balloons. I liked this because I am a writing teacher and I make a lot of comments. With my name and the time stamp on ever one, it takes up too much space, often spilling past the margins and into a sidebar or a bottom-bar.
In Word for Mac 2016, this function is removed, and I really need it back. Please. It's a simple little checkbox. I and my students are severely inconvenienced by this. Thank you.

When importing PDF into Word 2016 for Mac, allow choice of page as in Word 2011
When you place a multipage PDF in Word 2011, Word tells you "The file contains multiple pages. Select the page to insert." Word 2016 does not and only imports the first page.

Remove the edit lock on read-only files
This new 'feature' means all docs opened in read-only mode (like every attachment from Outlook) are unfortunately locked for editing until they are duplicated/saved. I definitely don’t want to save the dozens of attachments I access on a daily basis, but sometimes you want to tweak some spacing to print a document or jot down some notes to take a call. This just adds extra minutes to every day and contributes to file bloat.

Return Writing Styles in Grammar Checker in Word 2016
In Word 2011 You could go to Spelling & Grammar Preference and Choose from several Writing Styles:
Casual
Standard
Formal
Technical
CustomIn 2016 this has been completely left out. Many Doctors, Lawyers College Personnel and student, Technical Manual Writers, Government agencies will have to find another Product take up the slack.

Word count
Please bring back the "words out of total" view, which very easily shows us how many words we have of the total word count in a document. It's ridiculous that you have removed this option from Word for Mac 2016. I'm dumping it straightaway and going back to Word for Mac 2011.

Microsoft Office 2016 does not support Equation editor 3.0.
I am Maths teacher. After installing Microsoft office 2016, since it does not support Equation editor 3.0, all equations cannot be viewed and edited. That means Maths teachers from all around the world cannot edit their notes any more. So I sincerely ask for your help to buy the license from Mathtype again. Thanks.
102 votesThank you for your feedback. As noted in the Changes to Office 2016 article (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/mt715497(v=office.16).aspx) Equation Editor 3.0 is no longer supported by Office. These objects can still be edited if you have the MathType plugin installed. We are aware of the issues with Equation Editor 3.0 and are considering potential mitigations, though as this equation editing is no longer supported we encourage you to use Microsoft’s built-in equation editing tools instead where possible.

Arrange windows vertically, and synchronous scrolling
Please, incorporate these two features, which existed in Word for Windows. They are invaluable to compare similar documents side by side.

Proofing tools for Office (2016) for Mac
With reference to http://answers.microsoft.com/thread/d9196232-2aff-40a2-a4ea-ca6241932395:
Apparently, proofing tools for Office for Mac are not available. I am Office 365 business customer and it comes a complete surprise that I can't proof my documents in Slovenian language on Mac -- but I am able to do so in Office Onlne and in Windows.
Additionally, there are language packs available for windows versions but not for mac versions. Why?!

Please bring back the Clipboard Feature for Office 2016 for Mac especially for Word
Using the Clipboard feature would benefit many Word users when we need to paste different words repeatedly in a document. Without this feature can be a hassle or daunting when I have to create same lesson plans for 2 different classes.

Detailed Compatibility Report with other Word versions
Office for Mac 2011 can generate a "Compatibility Report" to check a document's compatibility with other versions of Office - either for Mac and Windows. Microsoft has a URL that explains it all: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Check-a-document-for-compatibility-c5aa52e0-15c8-4da7-9942-379552795d90
This feature has been removed, please set it back as there are still some cross-version issues when sharing documents (Office 2016 with 2013, 2011 for Mac, 2010, 2007, etc.)
