  3. Command Click title of document window to access the document in Finder

I would like the standard MacOS behaviour of Command Clicking on the title of the window to display the folder hierarchy, so I can access my document's location in the finder.

  4. 'Default' button on the Orientation section of the Layout toolbar.

UI —Please put a 'Default' button on the Orientation section of the Layout toolbar. This should also have a separate button for a single page override.

  6. Auto-Complete When Sharing on Mac

Sharing Word Docs on a Mac should be the same experience as on a Windows machine. Currently, Mac sharing requires you to put a name or email but does not auto-complete to show a dropdown list of users from your organization. Typing a persons name or email should bring this list up as it does in Windows Word, as well as Outlook.

  9. Delete gray bar throughout doc generated by comments

Word 2019 generates a gray bar behind the comments, and that bar prints on every page. So if you have a 200 page doc with one comment that you need to print, you will have a 2-1/2" or so gray bar down the right side of every page, whether or not a comment appears on that particular page, which uses a huge amount of ink. In the old Word that gray area appeared only behind the text in an individual comment, The 2019 version makes printing out unnecessarily expensive. Thank you.

  12. DO REPAIR BUGS IN WORD MAC, pls

There are plenty of BUGS in Office Mac 2019. Why don't correct them once forever instead go including useless devices such as icons?

Read the messages. All consumers are reporting bugs and you do not pay attention to these messages.

  13. Revert the way styles can be changed to the method in Word 2011

In Word 2011 the user could make formatting and/or style changes in some text and then select the same style the text originally had and a popup alert asked if the user wanted to update the style with the changes. To make this work, it was necessary to have the style in a box in the toolbar above the document. Putting the style in the box has the additional benefit of letting the user know what style is being used wherever the cursor or selection is. In Word 2019 the style is in a separate window and updating a style…

  14. Allow the user to format the filename at the top of the document window so all of it is visible.

Allow the user to format the filename at the top of the document window so all of it is visible, or show the whole filename when the user hovers over the filename. With a lot of similar files it is impossible to tell what the filename is without trying to save it as a different file. That is a bad approach.

  15. Allow the user to define the print paper default.

There needs to be a way in Word to define the default paper type. In version 16.34 of Word it defaults to index card letter. That is probably due to an Apple default. Now it requires going into Page Setup to change it and it is a pain to need to go into page setup every time we want to print a document to check to see what the paper is set to. Having a default in Word would be much more efficient for users. When the default was US Letter everything worked a lot easier and more efficiently.

  16. Correct Change Case > Capitalize Each Word so it capitalizes each word even if the first word in the selection is already capitalized

Correct Change Case > Capitalize Each Word so if the first word in the selection is already capitalized, the code still looks at the other words in the selected text and capitalizes each word. In version 16.34 of Word for Mac it stops after the first word and does not correct the rest of the words.

  17. If I paste text into Word it doesn't catch capitalization errors. It autocorrects when type, but I need spell check to work on pasted type.

When I copy and paste text into Word it doesn't catch capitalization errors when I use spell check. I'm proofreading and need to make a note of errors. It autocorrects when type, but I need spell check to work on pasted-in text. After working with support there was no solution.

  18. Keep the standard and formatting toolbars visible at all times, even when in Header/Footer view

This suggestion is for Microsoft Office 2019 for MAC OS. When working in the header/footer view, the formatting and standard toolbars disappear. If you want to make text embellishments, you have to hit the Home button, and then the toolbars re-appear. I'd like to recommend that the standard and formatting toolbars remain visible at all times, regardless of the view. And also, the ribbon toolbar is not helpful at all when in Header/Footer view.

  19. show the complete filename and the style of the line where the cursor is now with a selection mechanism to change the style as in Word 2011

Show the complete filename in the space above the document. Also, show the style of the line where the cursor is in the document with a selection mechanism to change the style as in Word 2011. The change to the style should trigger a popup window that asks if the style itself should be updated or just the document.

  20. show the complete filename and the style of the line where the cursor is now with a selection mechanism to change the style as in Word 2011

Show the complete filename somewhere in the space above the document. Also show the style of the line where the cursor is now with a selection mechanism to change the style as was done in Word 2011
