  1. Bugs in Word 2016

I am a heavy user of Word for formatting manuscripts and am currently trying to use Word 2016. There are so many bugs in this program, especially in formatting margins and hyphena-tion, that I am about to give up and return to Word 2007. Is there any way I can work directly as a beta tester with someone in charge of fixing the bugs in this program to get these bugs fixed?

  2. Edit Margins from footer design tab

From the [Header &Footer Tools] [Design] tab it would be great to be able to alter the actual page margins of a document as well as the height or depth of the header and footer.

  3. Mail merge address blocks don't support diverse modern family naming

It is increasingly common for couples to have different last names. About 30% of the couples I mail are in this configuration. Word mail merge ostensibly knows about a spouse first name and spouse last name field. At least, both of these are available for field matching.

However, the address block does a bad job of dealing with spouses with different last names.
    My ideal goal is
    Jane Smith (one person only)
Jane and Sam Smith (two people, same last name)
Jane Jones and Sam Smith (two people, different last name).
[It would be great to also have an option…

  5. Drag and drop onto headings in the navigation bar.

The ability to select text from a document and drag and drop on a different location on the navigation bar.
i.e. select a section from chapter one and drag and drop on chapter three

  6. Having an option to enter non‐breaking space with variable‐width

It is a common desired behaviour, yet Word always treats non‐breaking spaces as fixed‐width spaces (hard space). I know that it has been doing it since its very beginning, but it’s not going with modern standards very well.
I was thinking of a new feature – setting the behaviour of non‐breaking space per document. Documents created before the date of new software update would have hard spaces by default and the new ones could have modern variable‐width non‐breaking spaces. Or every space (breaking or non‐breaking) could be set to have fixed‐width or variable‐width.
its extremally important for justified texts and…

  7. Automatic Picture Recommendation

First of all don't ope up the feedback page with IE
Next, I know this is hard but everyone uses AI and it is time that text editors become "smart" could you please make word "smarter".
For example I am writing up a table of a bunch of chemical compounds and it would be nice if I could make Word look up a picture of the compound, and paste it in the row bellow my chemical compounds

  8. Fix word 2013

To Demonstrate a problem with word 2003 thru 2013 do this:
    1. Start new document and type the following with default font:

     This is Davids line 1

2 Convert Davids to Symbol font so it shows like @#$%^&.
3 Save and CLOSE the file.
    4 Reopen the file
5 Use control A and change the whole document back to default font. Line 1 will look wrong:.

This is line 1 ###### with 6 boxes instead of text.

6.Put line 1 onto clipboard and paste it into Excel. It now looks OK and Davids is back.

    It turns out the font…

  10. Sort changes in reviewing pane by date

The list of revisions should have filters and sort options. You could then focus on the latest changes or go back to changes till a specific date.

  13. Fix a bug that prevents readability statistics from popping up with page numbering.

There is a bug in 2013 and 2016 that prevents Word from popping up the readability statistics in a document that has page numbering. This is oh-so-wrong! The work around is to select specific text passages and then grammar check to have the readability statistics pop up. However, this is inconvenient and I want to know the readability for an entire document, not specific selected text. (With long documents, this is irritating to do!)

  14. Include ALL features of Office Home in Office 2016 Professional

There are a number of small "home-user-friendly" features like "Insert Video from your PC" that work quite nicely in Word Home, but are NOT in Word Professional. The path from Home to Pro ought to be upgrades, not deletions!

It's also VERY confusing to have the same features in Powerpoint (like Insert Video from File) but not in Word.

  16. spelling and grammar

    Hello,

I have some concerns regarding Microsoft Word's grammar check. When creating a document for a graduate English class, it asked to change my statement “you have to remember” to the suggested change, “you must remember.” This is not what I intended to say. To begin, “you have to remember” is a somewhat idiomatic expression: it acts as a familiar statement that is appropriate to a reading response, the type of writing I was engaged in when prompted with this question. You “must” remember implies a type of imperative, carrying a far more instructional connotation. As stated by the OED,…

  19. Problem with Title details in INFO drop down

Whenever INFO details is checked, Title column either shows as blank or some weird as "Garg and Associates". This name is not even known to me. Also, if file is converted into PDF, it shows either blank or this "Garg and Associates" in tab. Y can't word pick save file name as default title in case of blank? Also, how to remove this weird name appearing permanently from future files?
