It would be great if you could prevent the color of tracking changes in Word from changing automatically.

Add APA 7th Edition
APA published its 7th edition last year. However, the reference functionality, as well as the APA template on your website, have not been modified to correspond to the new changes. There are numerous students in universities across this country and around the world who rely on Word's reference functionality to keep track of references when conducting necessary research aimed at helping humanity. As numerous individuals have reported this, it is imperative the Microsoft address this issue as soon as possible.
It appears the report rate for this topic is minimal, but there are hundreds of thousands of students who need the functionality to continue working on their dissertations and research studies.
The Microsoft organization understands numerous universities and institutes of higher learning have purchased Office 356 for their students to use. As such, the organization has a responsibility to those students, and their inaction in addressing this issue is not acceptable.
I look forward to a response concerning the issues outlined above and when we can expect to see updated reference functionalities as well as updated APA 7th templates to be available for student use.

Can you please ask your developers to enable users to convert MS Word documents to MS Forms. This is a very important tool for educators. Many teachers have MS Word quizzes and would like to be able to convert a MS Word file easily into a MS Form quiz. Its so frustrating at present not to be able to convert it easily from one file type to another.

Desperately need APA 7th edition style references for college. Please change it from 6th edition style ASAP.
I really appreciated using the APA 6th edition style references for my papers. It saves sooo much time and nit picking entries for many references from so many different sources.
Now that APA has made the 7th edition, all the professors want APA 7th edition reference pages.
It is an unbelievable hassle to redo every reference. I have to keep referring to the APA website to figure out what little changes need to be made here and there. It is such a waste of precious time when Microsoft Office 365 (that I pay for) could update the reference section.
Please do it sooner, rather than later.

Capitalizing Titles According to APA or Other Standards
How about bringing to Word a feature to allow us to capitalize titles according to some standards like APA, Chicago, AP, MLA, NY Times, Wikipedia, or others, instead of just capitalizing each word or sentences?

If you want people to continue using the Feedback process you have to prove to them you are listening.

In your blog entries announcing new features being implemented, CLEARLY identify which are the result of feedbacks. Even include links to the original feedback so people can see what type of requests are actually acted on.7 votes -
Autocorrect in Word
What stroke of insanity possessed someone at Microsoft to remove the autocorrect function from Word? Word 365 was working just fine, with autocorrect, until I allowed Editor in on the game. It disabled autocorrect. I am a technical/science writer with an enormous custom dictionary, which I can no longer add to! Editor comes up with a pathetic choice of words, which is useless. Do you realise how much time this is costing me? Not to mention the SIX HOURS I have spent this week with two Level 1 techs, two Level 2 techs, and finally a Level 3 tech who checked out solutions overnight and regretfully informs me there is NO SOLUTION!!! For Gods sake Microsoft, put autocorrect back NOW! You are hobbling millions of writers and making life impossible. Get out in the real world and talk to writers who actually use your product. Please. Pretty please. GIVE ME BACK MY AUTOCORRECT!!!!!!!!!

Remove Legacy File Formats
To increase security for users, removing the ability to open legacy file attachments such as Word 97-2003 and older formats or Microsoft Works. Both formats have long been retired for over a decade. The legacy Word DOC format is a cesspool for bad actors to embed malcious code without the same level of security controls that the new DOCX format provides. This legacy file format needs to be removed.
I would suggest that it be moved to a separate utility that converts the documents to DOCX or DOCM depending on the content.

Word embedding issue
After installing latest Office updates, I noticed that Word embedding feature is broken. Embedded file icons are not correct, but kind of generic ones. Problem can re-produced this way: open Word > Insert > Object > Create from File > Browse any file (pdf, excel...) > Display as Icon. Icon is not what it should be. It shows generic icon, not the real icon. My Word version is 2007 (Build 13029.20236 Click-to-Run).

Add bookmark brackets to formatting marks
Why shouldn't the text mark delimiters also be displayed when activating the format symbols (¶)?
Here is my explanation: By default, Word does not show the brackets for the bookmarks. If you change a letter at the end of a bookmark, you have no chance to position the insertion point correctly. When troubleshooting, it took my colleagues and me hours to find the mistake.
Unfortunately, the command to show the bookmarks is also hard to find. (BTW: Here is space for another improvement.)
That's why I suggest that, as in Libreoffice, you can also show the bookmarks in Word by pressing the format symbol (¶). (This is what my colleagues and I tried first when troubleshooting).

Update Referencing tool to APA 7th
Please update your referencing tool to APA 7th. Many school jurisdictions pay for 365 across all their students and staff, as do many Universities. Individuals also pay for their own subscriptions. Updates such as these should be made in a timely fashion. It is more than a year since APA 7 was released and hundreds of thousands of 365 students use it for their referencing. If it were added to 365 that would make those students' lives easier as well as compliant with educational requirements.

There should be an update for APA 7th edition that came out last year. This update is highly needed for nursing students in college and university. The lack of availability is costing students marks for improper formatting. for the amount of money us students spend, please do the update.

Application.Version since 2016 shows always 16.0!
Since Word Version 2016, VBA always delivers 16.0 when querying the version. Why can you no longer distinguish Word 2019 or 365 from version 2016? This creates problems in controlling the macros for our customers. We need to know which version is installed in order to control our program properly.
