Headers in Table not displayed in Navigation pane - fix this
For a long time, if you put a heading style inside of a table, it will not display in the navigation pane. This is a PAIN.
Thanks for your feedback! We’re reviewing your suggestion.

Why has there been no movement on this subject for such a long time? It's really annoying for me as well! I'm sure there are many more people out there but they have simply not bothered requesting it in this forum! Thanks in advance for your efforts ;-)
Hi, I work with technical requirements specifications and use headings in tables to structure the requirements. I would greatly appreciate being able to see the headings in the navigation pane; the alternative of splitting up the table between headings is simply not maintainable. Many thanks.

Extend Navigation Pane and PDF Index (bookmarks) to include TABLE cells with an Outline Level (not just heading style)
People have ask for this for years. Now I need it also!

Not sure 10 votes in 8 months is going to cut it, so if you (like anyone who ever has to deal with long tables or instructional documents) finds this lack of functionality eye-stabbingly frustrating, perhaps share the link to this page on your social/professional networks. Am pretty sure more than 10 people would like to see this changed in the next iteration of Word.

Show me a way to format 10 tables with a header for each table in a synchronous format - same column widths for each table when I change on table.

Headings in tables make plenty of sense.
I am doing requirements summaries, each related to a different screen. I put the screen name in a heading style, and I want to use it to navigate by. The table has the heading, then the summary, then some detail. It's a lot of screens and navigation would be really helpful. I had to remove all the headings from the tables and put them outside using code. They were better inside.
We use tables to align bilingual text, including headings. Being able to use the navigation pane again would improve our work time.
The Navigation pane should not ignore headings just because they are in tables. Some of our test scripts use tables to organize and format the test cases, and we would like the Navigation pane to list each test case without having to move the name of the test case outside its table.

Hey how interesting - but then why do you have a heading style in a table? Makes no sense. Tables are for tables not for body structures.
