Cross-References for Figures and Tables must have a Number Only option. It is quite awkward when one wants to cross-reference a group of Figures or Tables, and cannot write something like: "From Figures 7 to 11..." Currently, one has to write: "From Figure 7 to Figure 11..."
I have suggested this several times in the last 10 years. So far no response.

I agree it would be great to have this as a built-in option, but you can make this change manually to your references.
Click in the cross-reference and click Shift+F9 to toggle. You'll see a string of characters but it will include \h toward the end.
Put your cursor right before the \h and type " # 0" (mind the spaces - space # space 0).
Click F9 again to update. Now you will see only the number.
