I enjoy the extensive color pallet for both the text and highlighting options offered in Excel, and the same pallet is offered for text written in Word.
I am disappointed by the limited highlighting shades. May I have more highlighting color options for Word? It would be wonderful to have the same, extensive pallet for highlighting as for the text.

So True! For the love of everything good in this world, please update the colour options for highlighting! It drives me up the wall on a daily basis. I want to highlight in pastels like the shading/theme colours has to offer. Even adobe acrobat reader for PDFs has lovely highlighting colour options AND a little floating pallet. Then I try to match up with my word documents and I'm stuck in the 80s/90s with Words highlighting options, I'm just waiting for Clippy the paperclip to make a comeback! Microsoft, get yo **** together please, this is one less stressor I need in my life #priorities! I sent an inquiry to Microsoft in Australia over facebook messenger (/vicki.moo) and they directed me here. But I see that this has annoyed people for years, what is holding you back Microsoft, what? Tell eeeeeeeeee. Kind regards, Victoria :)

It would be awesome if we could have a floating transparent little pallet for being able to highlight a text easely for those who study and read lot of information in word.
The highlighter is the last color feature that is stuck in the 1980's. It is long past time to update this feature to take full advantage of color support in Office.
This! Please, microsoft, give us more colors!!! I had to move to a different app just to use an orange highlighter ):

You can already choose from the full gamut of colours for font and shading etc. Surely it wouldn't be too hard to implement the same system for highlight colours? Being able to select a highlight colour from the same colour family as the theme of the document would be extremely helpful and more aesthetically pleasing.

I like highlighted colours but I am very disappointed by the limited highlighting colour shades. If there were some options to customize colours and make different shades out of them for highlighting then I would be glad. It would be wonderful. Both the text and highlighting would be enchanting and beautiful to look at.
