Provide Option For Opening Compared Documents When Opening Comparison File of Differences
Perhaps option is already there but I just can't find it. After making a document comparison and saving the comparison results to a separate .DOCX file, I reopened that file and had to hunt a bit just to show the revisions pane. Finding out how to reopen the two compared documents and have them shown on the right so that I could synchronously move them as I examined changes eluded me (during the original comparison before saving the differences file that feature worked GREAT). So my request is just make it easier to restore the Document Compare status and file/differences view just as it was during the initial Document Compare run.
P.S. If the document comparisons file had links to the documents being compared that might enable the user to reopen the compared documents in the comparison window just by clicking on the links - realize MS will regard document links as a security issue but DEAL WITH IT. As it is, one opens the comparison file and unless the user thought to insert that information his/herself, there is no record of what was compared - and putting all that info in the file name of the comparison file is tedious and might not show up well on the TitleBar for the comparison file, particularly if one keeps one's QuickAccess Toolbar on the left of the TitleBar
