When I turn a feature off, please do not turn it back on during updates.
Monthly Microsoft Office Updates! It's time again for "guess which settings Microsoft has changed without asking".
This time they've decided that I couldn't possibly have intended to disable the spelling and grammar checkers.
So, yet again, now I have had to hunt down and disable; 1) check spelling as you type, 2) mark grammar errors as you type, 3) check grammar with spelling, 4) mark "frequently confused words", 5) six autocorrect options, 6) eleven autoformat-as-you-type options, 7) and twelve autoformat options. Did I mention again? I have turned off all these options at least five times.
I have superb spelling, grammar, and writing skill. I DO NOT need any of these nannies binging, bonging, replacing, and drawing squiggly lines in three colors under my text and distracting me from THE CONTENT I AM TRYING TO PRODUCE.
It's infuriating. Do you people even use the products you sell?
My hundreds of customers and thousands of users also find this now baffling product infuriating and confusing.
I've been using Office since Word 2, know it like the back of my hand, and I can tell you that we are now having to fight against this accursed product to be able to get our work out the door.
