Make Word REF & STYLEREF Fields work better with custom List Formats
My level 1 headings must have a list format of "%1.0 " (i.e. manually appended period, zero, and two spaces). Ref fields pointing to such heading numbers include the two spaces (bad). Adding the trim switch "\t" to the field deletes the period, zero, and spaces (bad). StyleRef Fields have to use the \s switch which also deletes the period, zero, and spaces.
Ideas for how to fix:
-Allow for "%0" in the listformat to add zeros that won't be trimmed
-Add a field switch that only trims spaces.
-Implement string manipulation in field codes
-Change the \t switch (REF) and \s switch (STYLEREF) to not delete periods or zeros from list formats
-Add a field switch that only trims non-numeric, non-delimiter chars (counting periods as delimiters)
It would be nice to not have to manually type ".0" after ref and styleref fields. A big reason for using fields for producing numbers is that you don't have to type any part of the number.
