Return Styles Pane to 2013-2007 settings - spacing and multipule columns
1. The Styles Pane has been changed to have increased spacing between styles even when not showing a preview of the styles. This decreases the number of styles that can be displayed. If people in touch mode need this extra space, make it a part of the touch mode/mouse mode option.
2. In all previous ribbon versions, the Styles Pane could be set to have multiple columns, up to four columns. Now if it is expanded, it is simply a wider single column. This also cuts back on the utility of this tool.
My Job Satisfaction Rating is plummeting! Please please put the multiple columns back into the styles pane! I am desperate, and yes, I need/use that many styles ESPECIALLY when I use the
"show preview" and "show all font formatting " options. The document falls down and goes boom as soon as it's converted apple or acrobat, not to mention that you've taken all the fun out of "search and destroy bad formatting."
Those of us using the styles pane are probably power users. We need our tools back, please.
I do not like the wider spacing of the styles pane. It wastes too much vertical space on my screen and forces me to scroll twice as far when I need to access one of my hundred styles. Please revert the change!
The spacing changed with Version 1808 (Build 10730.20088). There was another - really annoying - change to Style Galleries at the same time.
See: "Don't "jump to style" in Style Gallery based on cursor location in doc" in this section.
