Grammar & Style checker removed from 2016
After upgrading to Office 2026 after a year of expensive problems with 2013 ... I find the most vital function missing .grammar and style checker ... what a waste of money this product is and you do not warn us it is not included before we buy it ... I am a professional editor and writer ... I have spent days trying to get support for my waste of money on your product so I am now going to post this to my 91,000+ fans worldwide on Facebook a warning about this ... You knew this was a problem almost a year ago ... I bought a single download and cannot rollback to 2013 .... not that I want to ... if I do not get satisfactory support on this matter in the ext few days I ill lodge a consumer complaint in my country ...
We value users’ feedback, and are pleased to announce that we’re planning to enable the style options in Grammar checking for Office 2016 users this winter – stay tuned for updates on availability. The Editor feature, which includes new style options and other ongoing enhancements to the experience, will continue to be exclusively offered through an Office 365 subscription.
I CANNOT believe this downgrade to the features in Office 2016. I'm a professor and used grammar and style ALL OF THE TIME, both for my own work and for helping students improve their writing. I am on an enterprise system at the University of Michigan--I don't have a subscription or an account--although clearly the University has a big one. Apparently our IT department has heard a lot of negative feedback already, and it will certainly get worse as more people are "upgraded" to Office 2016. What a joke.
Why is the proposed solution only available for subscription users and not outright purchase users?
I am really getting to hate microsoft
Is there an update on this? I'm running Word version 1612 (7668.2074) and still do not have style checking capability. I still have my MS Office 2010 cds around- perhaps downgrading would be a better solution, than to hope that your team can restore Office's previous functionality.
Do like to see the version 2026, ;-)
