Word randomly rescales equations and other embedded objects
Sometimes in a Word document containing several equations, after closing and re-opening Word, the equations have been randomly re-scaled. The proportions aren't off by more than a few percent, but it's noticeable. An example would be height & width of 97x101%, when of course the original was 100x100%. To be clear, this isn't with a specific version of WinWord, but it is specific to equations created MS Equation 3.0 and MathType -- IOW, equation objects. We've seen this happen with other objects too, primarily embedded Excel charts, so it does seem like it's Word causing the issue, and not Equation Editor, MathType, nor Excel or any other app.

Thanks for your feedback! We’re reviewing your suggestion.

We have this issue with excel ranges that are linked inside word document. It is extremely annoying and wastes a lot of time.

Please fix this bug. It is a nightmare. I'm writing a textbook and that is hard enough as it is, without this added major disaster to eat up my time trying to fix all these equations.
Thank you. -

Shin-Jang created a macro for word that does all the formating of equations to 100%. See here:

I just tried the Macro with a docx file with 1030 pages and approximately 3000 mathtype object. It run for the all night, but... it worked!!! Thanks Shin-Jang!!! -

I have hundreds of equations which turned into images which really made my life difficult. I contacted MS support via chat, and the guy was really helpful, but the solution given to me was NOT useful. The solution suggested basically is to use MatType 'convert equation', but it did NOT work.

Possible solution: Word -> File -> Options -> Advanced -> Image Size and Quality -> Turn on "Do not compress images in file".

This was a nightmare to finish my Master's Thesis with this bug. Would be nice if Word could address this. I can definitely see now why people go with other text and publishing programs for larger documents.

It is disgusting that people have been complaining about this very same problem from May 2016, and possibly sooner. Fix it WORD. Do the right thing by your customers.

This unwanted behaviour is ruining the appearance of my thesis.
I've had to go through hundreds of equations repeatedly, many offset but most inline with other text, to correct this flaw in Microsoft Word. It's been going on for over 12 months.
You'd have thought the Microsoft Team would attend to the bug once it has been drawn to their attention. It's making their product virtually unusable. -

The random resizing of MathType equations in Word is extremely annoying and is a total waste of time to correct everytimg I save and reopen the document. THIS MUST BE FIXED. I am looking for other software that will allow me to avoid it (e.g., Latex), which produces prettier math-related documents anyway. Microsoft should be ashmed that with all of its updates and new versions that this problem has not been fixed.
