Restore pinned folders in Save options in all Office products
Before the most recent branch 16.0.6568.2025 we had the ability to pin frequently used folders we saved document in, in all parts of Office. Since this new version it takes more steps to save files in the places we want them. Many people are upset by this change. Please bring back this ability to pin directories. See othger feedback below.

Excel/Word all the same. You can't add folders to the open or save as screens unless they are onedrive locations. Pain in the butt. Please restore the classic method to prevent corporate network users from constantly drilling into ENDLESS folder paths

I just bought Office 2016, and I immediately regret it. Literally the 1st thing I tried to do was pin folders.

Please restore pinned folders. Removing them was an extraordinary decision clearly taken by someone who doesn't use Office products on a desktop PC.
Likewise the "Add places" feature is utterly pointlees for most users who use local storage. Why not make it serve two functions by being able to add local folders and drives

I recently upgraded from 2013 to 2016. I am very disappointed over a year later pinned folders is still not added back. I used pinned folders every day in my job and having to use Browse instead will mean I have to take more time to do things. Please add it back - it is more efficient to pin a folder than a file.

RESTORE THIS FEATURE...Perfect case of people programming crap, don't realize how things are actually used...in other words they don't have to actually work with this. Please bring pinned folders back.

Clearly after a year, not only is no one listening, it is intentional. I'm going to guess, it is someone's vain attempt to force us into liking OneDrive, (which for me at least, is one of the most unstable aspects of Office). Frankly, there's a reason that Larry Ellison's vision of terminals rather than PCs with hard drives failed --- PC's are always there, and stable. And, until the internet is that rock solid, my PC is always going to work better than relying on the cloud--at least until now.
Microsoft appears to be "following" Google, and not "leading". They are giving up clear advantages that held, for weaknesses. Just like removing the start menu, and reducing the screen contents to that of a 5" phone instead of a 25" monitor, they'd like to "force us" to "like OneDrive". I think this will further force us to "like" any other alternative.
More than anything, it shows they only care about their agendas and not user's concerns--and will likely drive us further away from Microsoft. Even the courtesy of honestly explaining their position would be welcome. Alas, it isn't going to happen.
I'm giving up on Office--it's hopeless. I'll use it when I have to, ONLY, and use other tools that are now improving enough to stop using Office on a daily basis, which will start saving me more time and money.

In my work, I used this feature dozens of times every day. A lot of our staff scheduling is done with Excel and each department has a separate workbook. Among dozens of other custom Excel tools.

I agree. Losing the ability to pin folders is a very large step backward. Please bring this back ASAP

MS is the most non customer focused company. Please bring the is feature back. People that work for a living need to save time.

Yes, please. I did not upgrade to Office 2013 because you couldn't pin folders in recent files (excel, access, etc.) Now I have upgraded to Office 365 and they are still missing.

In MS products, as we say in Fench, "le mieux est l'ennemi du bien"...

Agree! Why do we have to ask for something back that worked before. Seems like someone made a mistake. Just add it back with a patch.

Totally agree

yup, agree. the new look as well as virtually all the 'updated' functionality of windows 2016 / 365 totally blows! for what I do it's not an improvement but rather a deterrent to productivity!

Must add my request to bring back this feature. Until my company upgraded, I used this every hour or two.

Why every time Office invented somethinbg good and helpful it disappear with the next upgrade...??? I really don't get it... It look like they have never really worked on the daily basis using basic office products like Excel or Word!

I also need this option. Your post shows this has been "under review" for almost a year. What is the hold up. Please restore this option.
