Restore pinned folders in Save options in all Office products
Before the most recent branch 16.0.6568.2025 we had the ability to pin frequently used folders we saved document in, in all parts of Office. Since this new version it takes more steps to save files in the places we want them. Many people are upset by this change. Please bring back this ability to pin directories. See othger feedback below.
Thanks for your feedback! We’re reviewing your suggestion.

This is a serious reduction in my daily productivity.
It is very bad to loose this function, please chang this aggain
Just do it and kill the useless back pane please
Why I can't see the history of folders? We need it more than ever, because in future we will work on server folders and not on our PC's.
MSFT please put a pin in your "Good Ideas" board to reinstate the ability to pin previously used folders. You see a pin is a way to remind you of an idea or thought you had before and allows you to return to that thought or idea quickly as opposed to having to recreate the thought or idea each time. Seems like you had it that way but maybe your pin fell out of the board.
Has it really been two years since this was first requested?
Doesn't look like we're getting this back, so MSFT, please provide an explanation as to how you think users should be using the UI to be able to open and save files to frequently used folders and/or filenames.
Bring them back - Word even shows the option for number of unpinned folders to show in the advanced section of the Options dialog box. Running Word 2016 (16.0.4738.1000).
My users are going to freak when I roll this out from 2010 - losing useful functionality in this was is hard for me to understand and harder for me to explain to others!
PLEASE QUICKLY BRING THE PINNED FOLDERS FEATURE BACK!!! I just had my computer upgraded and now have Excel 2016. Have not tried out everything yet. But the basic function that I use everyday is the pinned folder feature, and now it's gone. OMG, it's like my car is taken away and I have to ride a bike!!! It makes my work so inefficient now and so very frustrating!!!! When you use the pinned feature often, then a lot of time is wasted having to drill down to the folder level to pull up the files.
any update on this?
The ability to pin both files and folders was a game changer in previous versions of Word (and other Office applications). Removing a feature that saved so much time is ridiculous!
It really is extraordinary that you seem compelled to keep messing around with features that people use every day.
All the Office products should have the option to Pin recent or favourite folders in both the "Save as" and the "Open" dialogs. For most users the "The Add a place" button is a complete waste of space. Make it do something useful by allowing one to add a local folder to the Dialog.

Please give us back the ability to pin frequently used folders in Excel. There was a "Recent" menu where you could pin individual worksheets as well as folders. That was extremely useful functionality. Why in God's name did you get rid of it? Would you PLEASE make it part of an update? You have made navigation way more clumsy and time-consuming by getting rid of that feature.
It takes MORE than 3 clicks to get to what used to take 1 click. Woulda been nice if there were a 1x set-up screen for Save As - given its Very Different Format, at the very least, when I changed from 2010 to 2016.... So Sad. So Very Very Sad.

Arbitrary changes are made so they can be pointed at as evidence of an update.
I was so happy using pre-2010 Office...
Yet again a very useful function is removed that used to make our lives so much easier!
I think it's time you considered polling your user community before you decide what we want or what's best for us.
I suspect your programmers rarely use the Office products b/c they spend their time in the weeds of code...so they are definitely NOT the people to suggest removing functionality for the Office products!
I realize you are trying to encourage people to use the cloud, but added a couple of steps to commonly performed actions is hardly an effective means of doing so! More than the extra steps this decision entails, I resent the attempt to manipulate us! I wonder how Open Office handles this? RESTORE THE ABILITY TO PIN FOLDERS AS WISELY INCLUDED IN PREVIOUS VERSIONS! Thanks, Dan

BRING THE PINNED FOLDERS FEATURE BACK!!!
Come on - there is no reason for this delay! Countless time is being wasted clicking down through folder trees to find the folder compared to a single click in Office 2013.
