Please disable Insert Controls in Word table
MS Word tables allow you to automatically insert a row or column when your pointer is over the end of row or top of column. This very often causes accidental insertion of a row or column, which you then have to undo. Since it is VERY easy to use other means to insert rows or columns, it is a waste of time and very annoying. Please allow users to turn off the Insert Controls feature if they do not wish to use it.
Thanks for your feedback! We’re reviewing your suggestion.
A GIANT PAIN IN THE ASS!!! Let us turn it off!! We are grown-ups for cripes sake!!
Extremely annoying and impossible to select a single line row in a table; I use single line, merged cells rows as table section headings in most of my documents.
PLEASE allow this annoying 'feature' to be disabled
This is very annoying when trying to left click using the cursor arrow to highlight an entire row, this keep popping up in the same area you have to click in.

I regularly maintain standardized documents in which I must edit fields that are directly above tables. Since I began to use Word 2013, time and time again I have accidentally inserted columns when the + sign appears as I am trying to edit these fields. PLEASE allow me to disable this functionality.
Please remove the (+) feature for tables when not working in Draft mode. It's utterly annoying and requires extra delicate mousing moves to compensate.
I couldn't agree more. This feature gets in the way when trying to drag to change column width, select rows, select cells on the edge of table...
And please don't make us all wait until we upgrade to a new version of Office. The idea of having to deal with this feature until my company upgrades in several years is honestly a bit depressing. Rage building... HULK SMASH!!!
Make this freakin' annoyance go away. There is no added value to the users. Next time try doing a little research and usability testing. I'm so sick of Microsoft's idiotic methodology of continuously moving BACKWARD in usability. No common sense at all.
it is not just annoying, it actually gets in the way of trying to do what I want, like select a row to copy and paste or change width or height, etc. It was also totally unnecessary since it is easy enough to right click and insert, or use the tool bar. Adding rows is among the least common of actions.
I agree - please make this optional - a very frustrating feature. I am sure some may find it useful, however, having a way to turn it off would be helpful. Thanks.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make this awful 'feature" optional!! It wastes SO much of my time! Some of my tables are smaller font and the + symbol that pops up does not allow me ANY space to adjust my rows and columns, so I am stuck. My only choice is to zoom way in on the document, then adjust rows, then zoom way back out. What a waste of time!!! Make this OPTIONAL! thank you!!!
Please disable this "feature". It slows down productivity and is just plain annoying.
The + Add Row pop up is incredibly annoying. It slows down my table editing and makes me frustrated in the process. I've found I have to highlight the whole table first, then approach the row I want to delete and the + sign doesn't appear. But it is fiddly and painful and not always successful.
Please move this + sign to the right hand side of a table, or provide a disable feature, or provide other quick access to the features the + sign inhibits (that are normally available through right-clicking and highlight a row).
Please provide a disable option.

Feedback platforms don't work.
But it would be nice to have a DISABLE option for ALL FEATURES added by these developers.
Not everyone's WORK FLOW mirrors the developers who create the FEATURES in microsoft office.
For something "small" like this, they could care less to fix it. Since we are less than .001% of the consumers who purchased this program. (percentage off the top of my head.)
To be more specific, the .001% who care to COMMENT on these issues.
(Issues: This isn't the only issue with the program I've had, but after years of seeing people who have commented and given feedback on the similar issues that ail me, and nothing has been done about it. I find it to be "beating a dead horse" as the saying goes.)
I agree! It's very annoying and wastes my time. I'm trying to quickly delete a row and instead I have 3 more I need to delete.

I agree. This feature is annoying. I'm constantly clicking on the + by accident as it appears just as I click to select the row.

Just as others have said, this is a very annoying feature. I can see it would be useful for some but, whenever I'm trying to select the whole row, the wretched thing is floating around and getting in the way. So, yes, please add an option to disable it.
Please disable this feature - I've been using Word since the 90's and this is making me nuts. I work on extremely important deadline driven documents and this feature is making selecting rows incredibly difficult and stressful. Disable this feature, please.

Infuriating feature for any half-educated user, switchable makes sense.
PLEASE make this an option you can turn off. Some people have suggested to work slower so as to not trigger the + sign and slowly sneak your cursor up to the table. Work SLOWER? Really? With as many tables of data I create, this new "feature" drives me nuts, always getting in the way of me formatting my columns. Hate it. Wearing out the paint on my "Z" just having to hit Ctrl Z so often. Please help us. This is a good idea with unforeseen consequences. Please make it optional.
