  2. IMPORTANT: Change the display of fields and error messages.

    Fields should be off to the side with lines leading in to where the field is located. This will considerably make Word more efficient when fields, e.g index fields, are numerous. In other words fields displayed and not displayed will have exactly the same page layout and page numbers. NOTHING should be inline with the text, including error messages such as "Error: No such bookmark" or whatever it says. This would not be trivial but it would be the most beneficial change I can think of.

  3. auto enable word wrap when snapping window

    When snapping the window to one side of the monitor it would be great if content would automatically fit e.g. by zooming out

  5. Fix some bugs instead of adding new features please

    Why do we have to go through an extra click to skip the unnecessary bing popup when inserting a picture... instead of trying to add new stuff why not fix the bugs that have been in Word since at least 1997, such as pictures jumping all over the place; and text randomly changing to Times New Roman half way through sentences?

  6. Pasted Viso Graphics can not freely be positioned on page like Pictures

    They can only be pasted in the Text. There should be an option to let them Float like Pictures.
    This seems also to negativ affect Labels. Those are positioned wrong.

    In the manuals I write, I need in-line pictures of buttons. As by default their baseline level is too high in comparison with the surrounding text, I apply a style to lower these pictures by 3 pt. Like this:

    In general, this works as intended, with one exeption:
    when such a paragraph by coincidence is at the top of a new page, AND
    the last paragraph on the previous page has Spacing After set to a fixed value (Home tab, tiny arrow on the bottom-right of Paragraph group, Indents and spacing tab, Spacing After is set to anything except…

  8. Allow Esc from re-pagination AFTER more than 10 seconds has passed.

    When an event (e.g. View Print) causes Word 2016 to undergo re-pagination one can quickly press Esc and be given the option:
    Word must complete pagination before displaying the selected text in Print Layout View. Do you wish to continue pagination? To display the text in Draft view, select No.

    However, after 10 seconds, Word locks up and one can no longer abort the re-pagination without terminating Winword.exe.

    Please fix this to allow Esc anytime during re-pagination.

    Or better yet, only repaginate current section IF
    Section force to start on odd (or even) page
    Section restarts page numbering.

  11. Print adress envelope , I leave in Canada

    You have a problem in your Word version. I live in the Canada in the province of Quebec. Cannot me use the size of envelope which is suggested to me to print an address on envelope size that is outstanding in the Canada. Your application requires me the dimensions of the United States. Check available quantities sold by Canada Post which is the national postal service to the Canada. I go into the custom size tab, you impose upon me the dimensions of the United States. Imagine the industrialists who use your application. Please change this situation. I speak only…

  12. if Meneger is found in Outlook, the email address is used instead of the name

    This seams to be nice, but sometimes you actually need the Real name. And I haven't found a way to tell the fields not to show the email, but the actual name I original put into the maneger field.

    In Addition to using the name you should also be able to get the phone number and other infos from the contact.

  13. Ribbon object is getting lost in Word 2013 but it was working fine in Word 2007

    Hi

    We have an application which was working fine in Word 2007 which uses ribbon object as below

    thisRibbon.Invalidate

    where thisRibbon is declared as "Public thisRibbon As IRibbonUI"

    Public Sub InitializeRibbon(ribbon As IRibbonUI)

    Set thisRibbon = ribbon
    

    End Sub

    In Word 2013, thisribbon is coming as "Nothing" which is causing runtime error "91". However, it was coming " " (Blank) in word 2007 and working fine.

    Can you please suggest if anything has changed in Word 2013?

  14. Tables in Word

    There is a limitation in Word making it impossible to convert text to table for more than about 32000 lines.
    There is also a limitation making it impossible to sort more than about 16000 lines in a table.
    It should be possible to create and sort a table the same size.
    I suggest you have the same limit for create and sort and if possible increased to at least 50000 lines.

  15. Allow autofill of Sources

    We should be able to enter a URL for web sources and have all the information inputed for us or an ISBN number for books and it would fill in all the source information for us.

  16. Fix ribbon keystroke shortcuts NOT to toggle when press ALT

    In Word 2003, using the ALT button, I could race through the menu commands without looking. The keystroke sequence would always work.
    Now, with the horrible ribbon, the first press of ALT is a toggle - I then have to look whether or not the Initial letters are showing up on the ribbon. If they aren't, I have to hit ALT a second time.
    Another step backwards.

  17. Add Small Caps to the Change Case button in the Font section of the Home ribbon

    I use Small Caps for the subject of internal memos, and every time I have to use it I have to go into the popup Font dialog. It would good if Small Caps was one of the options in the Change Case button.

  18. Highlighting problem while running Spellcheck

    As you run spellcheck, it will mark a word as incorrect but you are not able to see which word it is because the highlighting is not there. It is always the first word on the page being checked, and it works perfectly fine after that...until the next page! Highly frustrating and slows down the process--especially when you are spellchecking 200- or 400-page documents!

  19. The underscoring line under bolded words is too thick.

    It should stay thin as it is under non-bolded word. The thick line is just ugly.

  20. Allow renaming a document while open and replacing previous name on desktop.

    Currently all Office files require using 'save as' and then deletion of older version. This has caused much confusion when the wrong file was deleted or someone has used the older file for revisions.
