  1. Add / Edit charts online

    One of those things that are badly missing online is the ability to add and edit charts in Word.
    In my opinion, add/edit charts is the simplest way to create compelling documents that look good and are easy to share/edit with anyone without going through Excel which some users a really not very much used to, especially at the C-level.

    • More prominent notification when Track Changes is on

      Even though Track Changes doesn't work in Word Online, there's a small notification at the bottom of the screen that tells the user when Track Changes is on for a document. I suggest that:
      1) This notification should appear in view mode as well as edit mode
      2) This notification should be more prominent (at the top, similar to the Excel notification that this workbook contains features not supported and you need to open in Excel to view them)

      • Improve the usage of Word styles

        Many of my documents "lose" part of their style whenever I edit them on Word Online or Word for iOS.

            • Retina-support

              Currently all graphical elements (Word-Logo, Icons in the ribbon) look 'washed out' on a MacBook Pro Retina. All texts are crystal clear, so this creates a kind of weird effect.

                  • Correct bug to show "Survey" button when using Excel Online in a spreadsheet stored in Groups files.

                    Right now when using Excel Online with a spreadsheet stored in a Group the Survey button is not available. It does appear when using Excel Online for a document in OneDrive.

                    To recreate the problem,

                    1. Login to Office 365
                    2. Click the group in Outlook
                    3. Open an Excel Document and edit online
                    4. No Survey button shows

                    • Stop automatically taking simple markup to all markup when a field is updated or entered.

                      I use Mendeley for managing and adding citations in Word. I like to keep simple markup with comments that need to be clicked to be shown. This helps the writing process to not become distracting. But, every time I click Alt+M and enter a Mendeley citation, Word switches from Simple Markup to All Markup. This is jarring. Please fix this issue.

                      • Sending Individual Sheets Option

                        Providing the option of sending individual sheets in addition to the option of sending the complete workbook. It will help user to send individual sheets when required rather than sending complete workbook (thus saving memory in email attachment) and also save time.

                        • Allow expanding canvas for ink comments in Word.

                          In Word, there is an option to place ink comments. However, when using an active stylus with the Surface Pro 3, the process is very jerky and frustrating. Ink comments should lend themselves to the model used by OneNote 2013 quick notes. The ink comment box should present itself as a canvas to draw in concepts, or ideas. Which in academia is the majority of comments when reviewing scientific papers. We draw graphs, charts, etc. for ideas when commenting on each other's papers. But, the way word is now, this is clunky because of the keyboard popping up, or not…

                          • Open workbooks in separate, unique, windows; no stacking in a single window

                            Can Excel workbooks please, please, please open in their own windows and not pile into a single instance of excel. It's nearly impossible to manage more than two or three things at a time on a corporate 17 inch monitor. Moreover, it makes working between workbooks nearly impossible and using excel on two monitors is out of the question (unless i intentionally open separate instances of excel, but files open to the nearest instance).

                            • Offer math mode parity with Office 2007+

                              Office 2007+ for Windows and 2011+ for Mac offer integrated math mode with rapid keyboard entry of mathematical formulas. Please add this feature to Office Online as well, to provide feature parity with Google Docs and desktop Office for students seeking to typeset STEM homeworks.

                                • Ability to build Apps for Office in Word Online

                                  I would like to build Apps for Office in Word Online. Word Online is one of the missing clients within Apps for Office. I would like this client to be added to the Apps for Office customizations.

                                  • excel survey - collect identity and some themes

                                    Some requests for the Excel Survey tool
                                    1) automatically collect identity (if user logged in) and add option to only collect one response per logged-in user. The identity will be written to one of the columns but add option to decide whether the identity should be shown. Maybe we want an anonymous survey with only one response per person.

                                    2) actually that suggests a second request - add an option to force the login so this can't be submitted anonymously

                                    3) add some themes, color, icons, graphics. Quick stuff - which will allow competition with google forms.

                                    • Add a select all (CTRL-A) to Excel (2013) search box

                                      Hi

                                      While using Excel, I often do search (CTRL-F) for a reason or another, in that search box, I cannot do a simple CTRL-A to select the content of the text box.
                                      It is really annoying: for a reason or another, we might want to select the whole content of the text box. Moreover it works in Word (2013), at least in the Navigation/Search Panel.
                                      I was thinking it is a default feature of any text box, but at least it seems to not be for Excel 2013.

                                        • sychronize last read in documents between devices

                                          I am currently a student and there are instance where I will open a word based assignment on my phone when i'm in college and then once I get home I open it using my laptop.. it would be extremely useful if Word was able to remember where I had stopped reading on my mobile and when I open the document on my laptop, open the page I was last reading while using my mobile... this should also be extended to PDF and other document types as many textbooks are in the PDF format
