When you are editing a document with another person, when they leave it says it's just you here now. This makes me feel lonelier than I am already.119 votes
Hi, thanks for the great idea.
The Word for Web product has a new experience for how to show other people who are also editing the document in real-time. As part of this new design experience we no longer say “If’s just you here now.”
The new design includes profile pictures (if available,) makes it clear which color applies to which person, and also indicates when people are inactive (not moving their cursor for 15 mins.)
The feature is present in Word for the Web. We can change the zoom level from the Lower right corner on the Status bar, or go to the View menu. Additionally you can also press the “Ctrl +” or “Ctrl -” shortcut to zoom in and out respectively.
Please add the function of word count to the online version36 votes

An option for more colors is now available in Word for the Web (Online.) You can open the Font color dropdown and should now start getting an option for More colors at the very bottom.
Any color you use from the dialog that opens, would start showing in a new Recent colors section in the color drop-down.

The word count noted at the bottom of the word online document is incorrect. It counts words with apostrophes (e.g., "can't") as 3 words instead of 1. Please fix the Word Online word count feature. Thank you!215 votes
We’ve added paragraph and character count to Word Online and have also fixed many of the accuracy issues with word count. You can see the new Word Count dialog by clicking on the status bar button (next to the page count) or going to the Review ribbon tab and clicking the Word Count button.
Missing the Hide Word Count option? Don’t worry, it’s now an option in the Word Count ribbon button drop down menu.

This would be one of the most common ways you'd want to collaborate on a document. It is the equivalent of Google doc's "suggesting" mode and without it our organisation would find it extremely difficult to take the plunge and jump ships.857 votes
Track changes is now available in Word for the Web (Online.) You can turn track changes on and off, see insertion and deletion markup, and accept/reject changes. Additionally, you can enable track changes “just for you, temporarily” to make suggestions without enabling for everyone.

to put spell-check like the other Microsoft Word.1 vote
Thanks for your feedback. Word Online has a spell checker which automatically checks your document and puts red squiggles under any word that is not spelled correctly. You can then right-click on the mispelled word and select suggested corrections. You can also invoke this functionality manually by going to the Review ribbon and selecting Spelling.
