Allow using @mention in Word online for guest users
As we usually work in distributed research networks with many partners there is a great need to be able to @ mention guest users

We too have a lot of partners that themselves have their own tenant, and either we are guests in their teams or they are in ours. Not having the option to fully collaborate with each other, despite both having full m365 licenses feels just wrong.
I am the M365 administrator for my organization and I am getting requests for this feature as well. We do a lot of collaboration with outside partners, and tagging guest users is something we would greatly benefit from.
This is a much-needed feature! I use a Sharepoint site to manage a shared calendar and set of documents with both internal and external users. We can tag each other on the home page of the shared site, but not on any of the word, excel, or powerpoints documents saved to that site. That's so silly! Being able to tag external users on shared docs should be possible when we're all using outlook as our email client.

I and https://lastingtrend.com/ think that It'll be really great addition. Microsoft should more focus on teams and businesses, a little feature that can speed up a lot of processes.
Extremely needed to be able to assign and follow up tasks for internal and customer project members. Otherwise we need to go back to the use of email for customer team members, while using @mention for internal team members. This is inefficient and time consuming. If it is allowed to have guests in a tenant, it should be possible to collaborate with them as well

We have many use cases involving the co-authoring of long, complex documents with external parties. Not having the ability to tag external parties at specific sections in the document during the editing and review process is a big headache.

Indeed, that would be very helpful!
