Please restore Track Changes online!
I was doing a lot of work on my laptop, editing a very large legal document for which my client needs to see all changes. The new update means that I can't use Track Changes online, but only on a desktop that has Word. That means I have no incentive to continue using Word Online. I feel like this is an important piece of user experience feedback for you guys (not you personally, of course!)
It's a pity because I was getting really into Word Online and had started telling friends/colleagues about it.

Our firm is now in talks with alternative vendors solely because Microsoft removed this overnight. The fact that they turned it off so quickly and quietly is making us re-evaluate our trust in their software.
So thank you, MS, for once again showing your true colors.
this is so fundamental to my whole company's productivity.
It's getting to the point that we're going to dump the o365 suite and move to gsuite across our 110,000 users

This is a critical feature for any collaborative document editing. Not to be dramatic, but it essentially makes word online not usable. Missing this feature means we have colleagues using rouge google docs accounts. This must be addressed or we’ll need to switch to google. It would be great is someone from Microsoft could comment on this request.

As a college professor, we moved to Office 365 online and now I cannot do track changes or "suggestion mode" in Google Documents. This makes it not efficient as an educational tool.

I also would like to see Track Changes available in Word online. It's a mystery to me why it's only available in the Desktop Word application, other than maybe that Microsoft wants to incentivize people to by the Desktop application...The competition, Google Docs, has Track Changes in their online software. Why can't Microsoft have it available online too?
We have the same experience. We are building a software platform that leverages Office Online and decided to move forward with Office Online only when we saw this feature was working. This is a huge setback and, if not restored, means Office Online is no longer a viable solution.
