show the header and the footer
When you insert a header/footer, it disappears after you click on the other part of the text. It should be so that the header/footer stays on the page when you click away.
Headers and footers should be displayed by default in Word Online, or the option to toggle them on or off, I should not have to go to the Reading View. When I am ready to share out a document I want it to look like a finished document not work in progress which it does currently when you can't see the headers and footers. I should not have to revert to creating a PDF, please fix this issue!
Headers and footers should be displayed by default in Word Online. It would save the step of switching to reading view or going to View>Header/Footer.
Headers and footers should be displayed by default in Word Online. These page areas typically contain important document metadata that need to be visible to those accessing documents.
This error continues to cause confusion for our staff and support. Can Microsoft take a look at this idea?

This is already a part of Word so long as you are in Print view.
No, you will not see them in Outline, Draft, or Web view.
Please apply this fix.
This change would be helpful. One time I had missed getting a 100 percent Turnitin.com score on a scholarly writing, because I had forgotten to change one word in the header during revision and editing for final submission. For those who are more visually perceptive this could be a game-changer of sorts.
