Please add the "Show non-printing characters" Button
This feature is now completed. Can you all give it a try and see if it works well. Will love to hear your feedback, feel free to comment on this thread itself.
It's somewhat contradictory that an educational version designed for young people trying to learn Microsoft Word lacks one of the features that are the most crucial in the process of getting to know it.
It's really hard to learn to format texts without seeing the non-printable characters. Please implement it.
Normally when you click the paragraph button you see all the page breaks, spaces and "hidden formatting" that you don't see when the document is printed. This is something I depend on when writing documents to create sections, page breaks and to understand why the document isn't cooperating. I would like this incorporated in the new version.

This is such a helpful tool, both for beginners and advanced users

I use this feature all the time. Trying to switch to WORD Online, but need to see formatting!
This is a very good idea. And not the "show/hide" button which shows everything. The ability to ALWAYS display paragraph marks. Makes it really hard to use style sheets w/out those displayed.
I love precision in editing and formatting, and this can only be accomplished with formatting marks. Please add this feature to the online version of Microsoft Word.
I'd love to see paragraph marks, line breaks and other formatting marks included in Microsoft Word Online.
Would like to view formatting markers please

I think it should just be an option (like the typical button on other Word versions)
Just to clarify on my comment, I am too requesting this feature in Word Online. I was just adding the information for referencing.
This is called "Show or hide formatting marks" in Word 2016
To make editing easier it would be nice to see the paragraph and space markers Tec.
