Enable QuickParts in Word Online
The ability to add quickparts or even textboxes and shapes into Word Online would simplify many form solutions for tons of users in Word Online.
Forms have always been a struggle in SharePoint, and having quick parts in web apps would allow us to embed Word as forms for our lists.
If you open the document in the Word client, you can add quick parts. The quick parts (with values) are visible in Word Online, but are not available for editing there. Would be nice to be able to edit in Word Online as well.

Simple biggest issue with word online...,please support quick parts so it actually works with a SharePoint integration and content types.
This is a shame, Microsoft.
I use sharepoint online that stores Word documents that I can open online.
How the **** I've to worlds that do not talk to each-other? Why?
This is a real issue for companies that are moving to your cloud.
nobody know some workaround for this yet?
They do not even update their value. If I change the metadata field in SharePoint and then open the document i Word Online, the old metadata is shown. I need to open the Word client in order to get a full update?

Would be a nice work-around since Quickparts are not available in Mac version of word. This would at least allow a way for mac users to edit Quickparts.
Just adding my two cents in here that this would be great. We have a document library that is used as a helpful template for supervisors to keep track of their employees' job descriptions. Having the standard stuff filled in using sharepoint columns on the document library is super helpful. I even implemented a footer that shows "Revised" followed by the date the document was last modified. These Quick Part references are glitched as **** if someone edits the document in word online. The references don't update, and sometimes when you open the document locally in the Word client, the values update but the columns aren't even in QuickParts. Makes no sense. Lots of people adopting SharePoint now that it is included with Office365 licenses that a lot of organizations use. It's a tempting option for business processes and intranets so people are taking the bait and ending up feeling pretty disappointed in the spottiness of it all.

It is a shame that I cannot use Quick Parts to pre-fill a Word Online document based on data in the document library. I use it for a emergency response system, and now that we migrated to Office 365, our users must manually fill in the incident name, etc. On-premise, this worked just fine. OWA for Online apps need to match what was available with OWA on-premise.

Absolutely, I've run into an issue where editing a document with QuickParts using Word Online will break the QuickParts and the formatting of the entire document. QuickParts have lots of potential with SharePoint, and it's a shame that it doesn't work with Word Online.

not just valuable for forms but would love to have it as a clause library, provided MS would create a better building block organizer (Desktop version is crap) n that allows for userfriendly editing of content not just properties.
